For me, I used to have no idea which foods were healthy and which weren’t- counting calories was the only thing I knew to be “true”. A fluctuating weight and emotional eating were normal for me. I remember someone asking me, “Are you on a diet?” My response?…”Always!” Diet pills, meal skipping, diet shakes, food restrictions and body shaming were all a way of life for me that I didn’t even think about- it was all I knew. I was a chronic yo-yo dieter which means I would gain and lose the same weight over and over again. I also determined my self-worth (and whole identity) solely on the number on the scale and how “big” or “small” I was. Was I always a positive, upbeat person? YES. But, that doesn’t mean I had any sense of peace when it came to my relationship with food or with myself.
I craved diet freedom, results that would actually stick for good and a normal, healthy, loving relationship with food and myself. I love food, people, socializing and having FUN but, you can’t really enjoy those things when you’re constantly dealing with the negative self-chatter in your mind about your weight, your size and constant worry over which foods you should or shouldn’t be eating.
Like you, I wanted to be able to enjoy my meals (and my life!) and stop with the shaming, guilt and anxiety food and meals can bring whether at home or out and about.

For me, once I discovered what works, stopped with the body shaming, the guilt around food, the restricting, obsessing and fear everything changed. Not only did I shed all the extra pounds, keep them off without dieting, was no longer counting calories, was eating until I was pleasantly full, plus happily indulging without the anxiety or thinking about numbers (math is SO not my thing so nixing the counting was a fun plus for me), but I also had breakthroughs in areas such as self-confidence, self-worth, coming into my own as a female, focus, energy, personal development and increased hair & skin health.
I know that being told “what to eat” is really only half the battle. My clients are women like you; smart, beautiful, talented women (even if they’ve lost sight of that!), but that doesn’t mean they don’t have deeply unhealthy relationships with food and therefore themselves & their bodies. This is not only overlooked by most experts, but by most women in westernized societies too.
What’s worse is that most of us who are struggling blame ourselves. Exhibit A: “I have no willpower”, “I’m too fat to do this or that”, “I’m never going to lose weight!”
It’s not your fault! Society and the media are constantly telling us our bodies are “wrong” from day 1 as a female. We’re either too thin, too curvy, not curvy enough in the right places, and the list goes on and on and on.
But, the truth is- it really is about MORE than what you put into your mouth. If it doesn’t become about more than this your new healthy habits will soon become another “diet” you are on- it will become temporary, you’ll give up, resort back to The Vicious Cycle of dieting/deprivation, bingeing, self-resentment and back around again.
Instead, you must to take a deep, uninterrupted look at your relationship with food and with yourself. You must to implement our 3 keys we swear by here at OBC. And you must, without any doubt, create the ‘healthy lifestyle’ and ‘way of eating’ that works for you– on every level; that inspires and empowers you every single day. Or it won’t stick.
I’ve been asked, “Does this take longer?” and my answer if always (and happily) “Yes…initially”. Because, you can either spend your whole life dieting, jumping from one crash diet to the other, losing and regaining the same weight over and over OR you can solve the problem once and for all. The whole idea of the ‘healthy lifestyle that leaves you feeling inspired and empowered daily’ here at OBC that I mentioned earlier can truly become reality for you too.
